Yokogawa Electric Co., Ltd. announced that CENTUM VP R6.10 will be released on December 13. It belongs to OpreX control and safety system series, and is a new version of Yokogawa Electric's flagship integrated production control system. It can realize compressor driven turbine control and integrated control of multiple compressor units *. In this version, Yokogawa Electric's CCC InsideTM has realized new functions, and the solution is jointly developed by American Compressor Control Company (CCC) and Yokogawa Electric. In addition to allowing process control and turbomachinery control on the same CENTUM VP system, it also expands the control scope that a single system can perform, which can simplify not only operation, but also engineering, procurement and maintenance.

Development background
Typically, processes and a large number of turbines in a plant are controlled by different systems, which means that users must manage and operate multiple systems. To solve this problem, Yokogawa Motor cooperated with CCC to develop CCC InsideTM for Yokogawa Motor's CENTUM VP. The solution, released in November 2021, enables CENTUM VP to control both processes and turbines.
For many different turbine and compressor units in the plant, the customer hopes to expand the control range and simplify operation, engineering and maintenance through a single production control system. In order to realize the control of compressor driven steam turbine and the comprehensive control of compressor unit, and expand the control range of Yokogawa Motor's CENTUM VP CCC InsideTM, Yokogawa Motor has developed the latest version of CENTUM VP system.

1. Expand the control range and support the turbine control driven by compressor
With this version, the CCC control algorithm running on CENTUM VP can be used to control the compressor driven turbine. In this way, the entire compressor system including turbine control can be monitored through the same Human Machine Interface (HMI) for routine process control. Using the same hardware to perform these functions can not only simplify engineering, procurement and maintenance, reduce the demand for spare parts, reduce maintenance costs, but also help reduce the workload of maintenance planning and implementation.

2. Optimize the integrated control of multiple compressor units
Yokogawa Electric Corporation cooperated with CCC to develop a function block for comprehensive control of multiple compressor units, realizing the control of multiple compressor units, many of which exist in the customer's factory, and achieve overall optimal control by distributing compressor load.
