In the manufacturing industry, the total power consumption of the four high energy carrying industries increased by 0.3% year on year, of which, the chemical industry increased by 5.0% year on year, the non-ferrous industry increased by 1.8% year on year, the black industry decreased by 2.5% year on year, and the building materials industry decreased by 4.2% year on year; The total electricity consumption of high-tech and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 1.3% year on year, of which, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, instrument manufacturing industry, computer/communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by more than 5% year on year, respectively 16.3%, 7.3%, 6.6% and 6.3%; The total electricity consumption in the consumer goods manufacturing industry decreased by 0.4% year on year. Among them, the agricultural and sideline food processing industry, food manufacturing industry, paper and paper products industry, tobacco products industry, wine/beverage and refined tea manufacturing industry increased positively year on year, respectively by 3.1%, 2.8%, 2.5%, 1.9% and 0.9%.

By the end of May, the installed capacity of power generation in China had reached 2.42 billion kilowatts, up 7.9% year on year. Among them, the installed capacity of non fossil energy power generation was 1.16 billion kilowatts, up 14.7% year on year, accounting for 47.9% of the total installed capacity, with a year-on-year increase of 2.8 percentage points. Hydropower reached 400 million kilowatts, up 6.1% year on year. Thermal power reached 1.3 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%, including 1.11 billion kilowatts of coal-fired power generation, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, 109.34 million kilowatts of gas-fired power generation, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%, and 39.13 million kilowatts of biomass power generation, a year-on-year increase of 18.6%.
